Lasagne alla Veneziana is a seafood lasagna inspired by the coastal traditions of Italy’s Veneto region. This dish features a blend of shellfish—such as shrimp, scallops, and mussels—layered with thin sheets of pasta and a smooth, creamy béchamel sauce. Light and flavourful, it offers a delicate twist on a classic lasagna.

| 4 cups | fresh mussels (reserve the juice) |
| 4 cups | fresh clams (reserve the juice) |
| 1 tbsp | extra virgin oil olive |
| 1 clove | garlic |
| 20 grape | tomatoes, quartered |
| 2 ½ cups | small frozen scallops |
| 2 cups | fresh small shrimp, peeled and deveined |
| 1 tbsp | fresh parsley, chopped |
| 1 ¾ cups | unsalted butter |
| 3 1/3 cups | all-purpose flour |
| 4 cups | vegetable stock, unsalted |
| to taste | salt and pepper |

Method
Step 1
Prepare the Shellfish: In a large pot over medium heat, cook mussels and clams (covered) for 5–7 minutes until they open. Strain and reserve the juices. Set seafood aside.
Step 2
Prepare the Shellfish: In a large pan, heat 1 tbsp olive oil. Sauté a whole garlic clove until it sizzles, then add tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Cook for 3 minutes. Add scallops and shrimp; season and cook through. Remove garlic from the pan and remove pan from the heat. Sprinkle with parsley. Set aside.
Step 3
Make the Béchamel: Measure the reserved shellfish juice and add vegetable stock to total 7 3/5 cups. In a large pot, melt butter and stir in flour to form a thick paste over medium heat. Gradually add the liquid while stirring until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper. Add all seafood and stir.
Step 4
Assemble: In a greased 9x13" dish, spread a little filling. Layer 3 Barilla Oven-Ready Lasagne sheets, then 1/5 of the filling. Repeat for 5 layers.
Step 5
Bake & Serve: Cover the dish with aluminium foil. Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake 10 more minutes. Let rest 15 minutes, sprinkle with parsley, slice, and serve.
